Friederike Hirz completed her dance education with a focus on contemporary dance at the Centro Estatal de Bellas Artes in Mérida, Mexico. She then studied political science at the University Guadalajara, Mexico and the University Hamburg, where she completed her degree in political theory. Between 2012 and 2014 she assisted, among others, Frank Castorf, René Pollesch and Silvia Rieger in numerous productions at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz Berlin. Since October 2014 she studies directing at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch in Berlin. Her studies brought her as a guest student to the Danish National School of Performing Arts in Kopenhagen (BA Dance and Choreography), as well as to the Hochschulübergreifende Zentrum Tanz Berlin (MA Choreografie). In addition to her own work as a director, Friederike works as a freelance dramaturge for film and dance.
