Evi Bauer studied theatre design at the University of the Arts London from 2007-2010. After graduating, she worked as a production design assistant at the Münchner Kammerspiele and as an assistant to Prof. Katrin Brack at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. In addition to designing numerous production elements, she was responsible for the set design for productions including Sicherheitskonferenz and Uncanny Valley, directed by Stefan Kaegi/Rimini Protokoll, for Orpheus steigt herab (invited to the 2013 Theatertreffen festival) and the set and costume design for Camino Real, both directed by Sebastian Nübling. She collaborates with both directors regularly, in addition to collaborations with Felix Rothenhäusler and Miloš Lolić, among others. Other set-design projects have taken her to the Theater Bremen, Deutsches Theater Berlin, Salzburger Festspiele, Theater Basel, Staatstheater Hannover, Burgtheater Wien, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Schauspielhaus Zürich and many more.
At the Maxim Gorki Theatre she designed the set and costumes for DER UNTERGANG DER NIBELUNGEN – THE BEAUTY OF REVENGE (Director: Sebastian Nübling), the set for MANIA (Director: Miloš Lólić) and the production design for DIE HAMLETMASCHINE (Director: Sebastian Nübling).
She also designed the set and costumes for the Gorki's 2019/20 season premiere, HERZSTÜCK, directed by Sebastian Nübling.
