Elisabeth Steffen, born 1985 in Aurich. During her bachelor’s programme in social and cultural anthropology and political science at the FU Berlin she met Jana König and, together with her and the author collective Loukanikos has been active in leftist-critical politics of memory ever since. During her master’s studies in European ethnology at the HU Berlin, she set out, with Jana König and Inga Turczyn as part of the Mauern 2.0 project, to search for migrant and anti-fascist memories of the fall of the Berlin Wall, using Can Candan’s film Duvarlar – Mauern – Walls as a starting point. Today Elisabeth researches fluctuations of antisemitism and racism in the context of conspiracy narratives and is a member of a leftist techno club collective in Berlin.
