Elias Arens

Elias Arens, born in New York in 1985, grew up in Zurich. Arens studied acting in the Department of Performing Arts and Film at the Zurich University of the Arts and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 2008. Arens received a scholarship for acting students from Migros Culture Percentage, a scholarship from the Friedl Wald Foundation, a solo prize at the 2008 festival of German-language acting schools in Rostock, and the 2011 Armin Ziegler prize. From 2009 to 2023 he was a member of ensemble at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, where he worked together with directors including Lilja Rupprecht, Andreas Kriegenburg, Sebastian Hartmann, András Dömötör, Ulrich Rasche and Anne Lenk. Elias Arens is appearing at the Maxim Gorki Theatre for the first time in Alice in Wonderland by Oliver Frljić based on Lewis Carroll.
