Dominika Julia Homa

Dominika Julia Homa (she/her) was born in 1993 in Leuven, where she was raised bilingual in Polish and Dutch. In 2015 she completed her masters in theatre studies at Ghent University and the Freie Universität Berlin. From 2016 to 2017 she was employed as an assistant director at the Berliner Ensemble, where she worked for directors including Manfred Karge and Leander Haußmann. From 2018 to 2021 she was an assistant director at the Maxim Gorki Theatre, where she was involved in productions directed by Marta Górnicka, Sebastian Nübling, Falk Richter and Anta Helena Recke. In December 2018 she directed a German-Polish bilingual devised piece titled Zungen. Ein dialogischer Monolog (Tongues: A dialogical monologue) at the Maxim Gorki Theatre’s Studio Я. In February 2019 she directed a staged reading of Der NSU-Prozess. Das Protokoll, in cooperation with the Literaturhaus Berlin. Her most recent production, Beute (Booty) – a play about the eternal return of the same – celebrated its premiere in the Gorki Container as part of the Rough & Dirty series in November 2020. Dominika Julia Homa began working as a freelance director in September 2021.
