Argentinian choreographer Constanza Macras studied dance and fashion design, developing the foundation of her choreographic and artistic work in Amsterdam and at the »Merce Cunningham Studio« in New York, among other places. In 2003 she founded the international dance theatre company »Constanza Macras | DorkyPark« in Berlin. In this company, she brings together actors, dancers, musicians and artists from various genres and countries, combining text, video, live music and dance. Questions about societal participation, about integration, segregation, marginalization, as well as globalisation's social consequences and challenges, are posed and discussed on stage. In 2010 she was awarded the premier national German theatre prize »Der Faust« in the category of best choreography for the piece Megalopolis, and in 2013 she became the first female director to teach the »École des Maîtres«.
