Born in Halle / Saale in 1980, Babett Grube worked as a freelance journalist and presenter on free radio after studying German language and literature. From 2007 to 2012, she studied drama theatre directing at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre, which she completed in January 2012 with her diploma production of Jon Fosse's Ein Sommertag. At the DT in Göttingen, she directed Der goldene Drache by Roland Schimmelpfennig, Gut gegen Nordwind and currently Alle sieben Wellen based on the bestselling novels by Daniel Glattauer. Her production Demut vor deinen Taten Baby (premiere) for Theater Bielefeld was invited to the Heidelberger Stückemarkt and the NRW Theatertreffen this year and won the 2013 Audience Award at the festival of young directors "Radikal Jung" at the Münchner Volkstheater.
