Judith Mähler, born in Berlin, studied costume and stage design with Peter Schubert and Roland Schimmelpfennig at the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee from 1995. During her studies, her preference for designing figures intensified.
After graduating in 2003, Judith Mähler set up her own studio and has since worked as a freelance figure and set and costume designer for various theaters and private clients.
Projects with directors including Gernot Grünewald, Wulf Twiehaus, Tatjana Rese, Ragna Guderian, Chris Kondek, Milena Paulovics, Alexander Kubelka, Nico Dietrich, Philipp Löhle , Arnim Petras, Frank Abt, Philip Stemann, Malte C. Lachmann and Marta Górnicka took her to Theater Lübeck, Theater Konstanz, Theater Chemnitz, Schlachthaus Theater Bern, Hebbel am Ufer (Berlin), Theater der jungen Welt Leipzig, Vorarlberger Landestheater, Junge Theater Göttingen, Landestheater Coburg, Thalia Theater, Theater Bremen, Hans Otto Theater, Theater&Philharmonie Thüringen, Theater Mensch Puppe Bremen and Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin.
