Puppeteer and director Ariel Doron studied puppet design and puppetry at the School of Visual Theatre in Jerusalem and film at Tel Aviv University, and has since become one of the most popular puppeteers in Israel. He works for the theatre, as well as film and television (including playing Elmo on the Israeli Sesame Street). His plays are often satirical commentaries on socio-political developments. In Plastic Heroes, he uses children's toys to examine the fierce desire and thirst for violence and war; he developed Besuchszeit Vorbei (Visiting hours are over) for the tjg. theater junge generation in Dresden. He has been invited to perform, direct and give master classes for a variety of festivals and theatres, touring in more than 20 countries around the world.
