Anna Davtyan is a writer, translator and photographer born and residing in Armenia. She graduated from Yerevan State University, English Language and Literature and also studied at CMI Photojournalism. Davtyan has been a writer in residence at the Villa Empain in Brussels (2022) International Writing Program of the University of Iowa (2024). Davtyan is the author of the bilingual (Armenian, English) poetry collection Book of Gratitude (2012). Her first novel, Khanna was published in 2020 and the second Zora in 2024. Her translation work features the Beat Generation – Allen Ginsberg, W.S. Burroughs, Jack Kerouac, and other writers like Alice Munro, Doris Lessing, Carolyn Forché, William Carlos Williams, Richard Brautigan, etc. Davtyan’s dramaturgy piece A Shipload of Carnations for Hrant Dink was staged by the German theater Krefeld und Monchengladbach in Germany, in 2016.
