Anahit Ghazaryan

Anahit Ghazaryan is a filmmaker, writer, and visual artist from Yerevan, Armenia. Her work explores memory, identity, and gender-based justice, focusing on how women's identities are shaped in a post-Soviet majority world country like Armenia. She emphasizes the role of archives and memory in re-examining narratives and values collaboration in her work.
She co-produced the feminist podcast Akanjogh (2019–2021) and co-authored two books, including Dark Matter: Notes on War (2022), an unfiltered dialogue on the personal impact of war. Her solo exhibition You Shape Me, I Reflect You (2022) explored women’s social roles. She curated an exhibition on Maryam Shahinyan, Turkey’s first female studio photographer (2021). Anahit has created two documentary theater performances, Planned Outage (2023) and Download Upload Loveload (2024). She is currently working on her debut feature-length documentary, I Fell in Love with a Dead Woman.
