Alp Tekin Ocak has been working as a lawyer registered with the Istanbul Bar Association since 2002. His legal work has covered various areas in the struggle for social and ecological justice. He has, among others, defended human rights activists, including in the Gezi Trial and Istanbul 10 cases, taken part in cases related to injuries and deaths in industrial accidents known as »labor murders«, defended journalists who lost their lives in the Van earthquake and supported the legal struggle of citizens against hydroelectric power plants in the Black Sea region of Turkey.
Next to his legal practice, he is also a farmer, gourmet, and co-founder of »Ağustos / Decolonial Hazelnuts«, a family-run organic hazelnut brand with roots in Turkey that produces nature-based, earth-friendly, and biodiversity-enhancing hazelnuts under fair labor standards.
Being a proud father to twins, he is currently based in Berlin.
