Patriarchy is persistent - but successively it is being overcome. Carolin Wiedemann shows in her book Zart und frei. Vom Sturz des Patriarchats how fundamental the belief in a supposedly natural binary gender order is for bourgeois capitalist society and that right-wing, liberal and some left-wing antifeminists insist all the more on this old order the more it is challenged. And Wiedemann shows that this is happening: in modes of relationship and behavior such as co-parenting, post-romanticism, and masculinity critique, with which people are already trying out a post-patriarchal way of dealing with each other that makes them more tender with each other and freer at the same time.
