Nora Martirosyan

Nora Martirosyan, an artist and filmmaker, lives in Montpellier. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts of Yerevan in Armenia, her native country, she traveled around Europe and graduated from the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam and from Le Fresnoy. She divides her time between teaching cinema and video (since 2015 at the Bordeaux School of Fine Arts) and directing films, which have won awards at film festivals such as Festival Entrevues Belfort and FID Marseille. Her first feature film Si le vent tombe emerged after a long period of work supported in particular by the workshop of the Cinéfondation of the Cannes Film Festival, the Villa Medici, and the Amiens, Angers and Cinemed festivals, the advance on receipts and Eurimages. It was the first Armenian film in the Official Selection of the Cannes Film Festival since 1965.
