Tobias Herzberg (born 1986 in Hamburg, Germany) is a dramaturg, director and performer. He studied directing in Hamburg and Zürich and has worked as an assistant director for Jürgen Gosch, Karin Henkel and René Pollesch. His production Tel Aviv based on Katharina Hacker’s novel was nominated for the Cologne Theatre Award. His graduation piece Life Is A Dream by Calderón was invited to the 2014 edition of young directors’ festival Körber Studio at Hamburg’s Thalia Theatre. In 2017 he staged the Swiss Premier Muttermale Fenster blau by SASHA MARIANNA SALZMANNS. Further works, including Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus and an adaption of Daniel Grey Marshall’s novel No Exit, have been produced at Kampnagel Hamburg and Junges Schauspiel Hannover. His solo performance FEYGELE was shown at GORKI’s Studio Я in May 2016. In the season 16/17, Tobias Herzberg is an in-house dramaturg at Studio Я, and he is also going to stage the Swiss premiere of a play by Sasha Marianna Salzmann at Schauspielhaus Zürich.
